VFC’s 1918A2 BAR Conclusion (Airsoft Gun Replica)
VFC (aka GB Tech) really went out on the limb developing
this AEG. The WW2 airsoft gun market is not robust as more modern guns but the
way they were snapped up is a good sign.
As typical of VFC their gearbox/mechbox parts are average
but the quick change spring feature is a big plus as is the takedown procedure
for this AEG. Upgrades will be easier then most.
VFC did an excellent job recreating the 1918a2 BAR and adds
a great addition to my WW2 collection. However, it cost me lots of hard earned
cash (HK$11,000, walk-in). VFC shows additional parts for sale in the manual
such as bipod and carry handle. I can only hope that the demand is strong
enough that it will spur future development and spare parts like additional
magazines.
VFC's 1918A2 BAR will be a legend, just as John Browning's
real steel version. There will never be a better 1918A2 AEG BAR made.
