The Key to this and any other effective tactic is teamwork. it is important that any team work together to accomplish their goal, be it in business, a family, a basketball team any team including airsoft.

I get asked all the time from players, "how can we build and foster more teamwork with our teams?" a couple months ago i over heard a conversation among some players asking each other, "why do so many people just run out to the field without regard to their team mates, as if there is no teamwork and it is one man against 20 or so.

While lying in the jungle of Paradise Compound listening to the birds chirping as I wait for the opposition to approach and subsequently shoot me from the back. (It was a sweet shot, I am sure the guy was enjoying that moment.)

Just letting the thoughts flow in and out of my mind, the answer to their question came to me, it's accountability! There is no accountability for the loss of their team mates.

When I play with my regular team state side, DEVGRU 6 (c) and Omega 6 (c) we don’t take it lightly when a member of our fire team gets eliminated because it means we let that man down, we failed and that man paid for our failure. It is our responsibility to make sure that man and the rest of the team makes it out in one piece. Of course we are not baby sitting and each member of the team has a job to do and we expect them to do their jobs; however it is the responsibility of each member of the team to accomplish the mission and make sure the team remains in intact.

That is the missing element; no one takes a sense of responsibility when their team mate gets eliminated.

I have alos noticed a trend when people are hit, its almost as if they are ashamed to be out so soon, and there are others who stay in the game by hiding and waiting till the time runs out just to be one of the last ones walking off the playing field.

For me and my team its not about how long someone lasted in the game, for us its not about the individual, its about accomplishing the mission and our team mates. It is almost a personal insult if our team mate gets shot; and if our team mate gets shot while one of us is hiding to avoid getting hit, that is the worst.

Getting shot is not an insult, it is apart of the game, letting your team mates get shot while you are hiding behind barricades that should be the insult.
