JG's W16-4 (m16-A4 aeg replica) review
It was the second day of a new year, 2007 evening and just me dropping by at Sir James place to get a really small item until he opened up one of these JG m16 box. WoooowwwwWWWW! It was love at first sight...again! Without hesitation bought it as the deal was mighty good enough tnx to Sir Angel.
Kaya heto nanaman mangungulit nanaman sa review hehe... (so here’s my review) So here are some pics of JG's m16-a4 aeg replica called W16-4 along the soothing green grass background of my sweet mama's garden hehe...
Ok here goes the txt material for this review.
The box... A nice brown box with an m16 replica, cleaning rod, some hi quality .2 bb's (may be around 150 pcs.), a manual, 1500 mah nicad sub c batt along the wall charger, and the metal hi-cap m4/m16 mag with the winder key and front sight adjuster.
Stock performance... Hop up needed some breaking-in period reason why the first 10 bb's flew like nuts. By the 20th bb flight is getting more stable. Finally at full auto the bb's are getting more stable going in one direction. Yet the hop up needs some checking especially the adjuster. The usual acm aeg fine tuning routine is a must here. But it's playable/field able enough.
The feed is flawless at about 13 rps rof using the stock batt at full charge. Check out this vid,,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzFphunzD28 It's a windy day so give some of those bb's going to the left a break...lol!
Stock fps at least mine ranges at 381-385. I'm sure they have put a type 0 cylinder now.
Inner Barrel length is 510 mm printed on the box, that's the true m16 length that matches a type 0 cylinder air volume. Seems it's true coz you can see the inner barrel just a little down the flash-hider. Very nice! tuwa na ba kayo mga adiks?! hehe... (you happy now airsoft addicts?)
Metal Parts... Just check out the pics which part is metal.
The receiver... Yeah it's plastic but it's well made at least the way I see it. It has greyer color which gives it a highlighted look. It even feels like a Marui plastic receiver. Hopefully those so called "ears" are strong enough in this. The selectors are engraved unlike on most metal receivers their just printed down. The charging handle isn’t bad sounding when c0cked. Forward assist is fully functional this time....yehey!!!
Metal Open Sights seems fully adjustable the front and the rear parts with elevation adjustment on the rear sight as if most of us are actually using those but it's a very nice feature making the gun more realistic
Handling... The rifle at first touch feels so solid and very light without the batteries of course. Some m16 marui's I've held tends to have a loose. Jg's m16 as of now feels solid enough just a slight wobble on the fore grip. If you do force it though heck even the real thing has a slight wobble there. I’m used to longer rifles tnx to the dragunov (46 inches long) and the m14 (44 inches) so this one which is only about 100 cm long (about 39+ inches) will be much easier to maneuver in combat. The fixed stock is a blessing. Not only for better aiming but it hides the best large classic batts balancing the rifle for good. The fixed stock also helps limbs that carry the rifles have a little break by simply squeezing it just underneath the arm pit hehe. I always see soldiers doing this btw.
The metal mag... Oh...this by far is the best acm m4 metal mag I've ever used. The winder is little bit more expose which is good imo for faster and better winding feel to it. The spring coils seems strong enough just like cyma mags. The winding key is a nice added feature for those who want to do really fast full winds while in the neutral zone. Although I prefer using an allen wrench or my modified drum key for winding the mags really fast. With a dozen of these mags on your vest it will surely be a joy blasting away in the field hehe.
Upgradeability... Jing Gong bells 2x ooops I mean JG is known for cloning TM aeg's up to almost some perfection so I'm sure JG's m4/m16 are really easy to upgrade, tweak and maintain. The external quality alone is simply convincing enough. We'll see...
Ok here are the internal pics but first plz read this....
Woah! It's true. Guys in china over greased the gearbox too much. Even the hop had some grease reason why I think sometimes I loose the hop effect on some testfires. Yet it's stock hop rubber was a perfect fit to the hop up assembly. No teflon needed. Seems they ran out of silicone wires they just used speaker wires on the extension wiring, a must change. The stock piston head was ported but the holes we're too small so I simply enlarged them. Stock nozzle and cylinder hear are also quite ok. Nozzle fits a little tight which is good for better compression. Unfortunately darn cylinder is still a freakin type 2!
Jan. 5, 2007 Tune up po! (Did some tune up)
After fine-tuning everything and that means... - made sure NU 107 was on first, hehe. - Better shimming - Bigger hole for the stock piston head - refitted the cylinder head - lubricated everything properly - checked the hop up and repacked it - modified the stock nozzle for a sure 100 % seal - rewired and added a relay (shown on the last pic) - chiseled out some panels inside butt stock for easier battery placementafter those I...
Upgraded it with these... - sp130 - Type 0 cylinder - Sanyo nicad 9.6 volts 2400 mah sub-c - Silicone wire extension with fuse box ......ready to rock?......hehe...
Field test and FPS result soon....
....LOL!........natatawa tuloy ako ...

Field Report 1 (Jan. 7, 2007)
It was a fine day to play and we played a section of our jungle I've not yet mastered so I had to follow our pointman and helped him draw some of the tangos out so to speak hehe. But somehow I did not get any confirm kill but there was lots of engagements. I mean a lot coz I spend about 4-5 mags (buhos system nga lang ala pa kasi extra mags) and the rifle held up quite well. I was expecting something to break like the piston body but the new guy with a CA m4 broke his piston first hehe, may be they installed a spring too strong for it or the usual lemon parts, LOL! So far so good. Some even thought I was using a marui m16 hehe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-EMvM45xSo
Handling... What I really love about an m16 is the carry handle. I had no sling so I carried my rifle back to the neutral zoneusing the carry handle and 3 more ways of holding it so limbs tiring out could have some rest. It was so nice to aim with. Solid as a rock, tnx to the fixed stock balancing the rifle really well. There we're 2 more guys using m16’s and I would watch them how they maneuver with it. So I've learned just to move slowly and always point the gun up or down depending on the foliage. For me it was a breather since the m14 and dragunov were way longer it was much easier now with the m16.
Performance... I was really confident this rifle will hold really well. - motor.......a really good stock motor capable of cranking a brand new sp130 with ease with a spacer on one end. - Piston........i drilled bigger ported holes on the piston head and the main body is durable enough coz it won't last this far in my experience with weaker pistons. - No misfeeds......100% perfect feed even on .25. mag is really good. - Current FPS.......well I haven't formally chronoed it but it can easily penetrate a coke can's bottom side with some slight crack on the other side...that's about 470-480 in my estimates.
Current set-up... - sp130 (brand new) - Type 0 cylinder (taken out from my beat-up DE m86, hehe pigang piga tlga) - Proper shims and lubrication - Toyota car horn relay (para bumusina daw baril ko bigla, LOL! joke!) - Sanyo 9.6 volts 2400 mah sub-c (stock batts can still crank this set up at full charge that is) - Modified stock piston head - Modified stock nozzle - refitted stock cylinder head ......everything else.......STOCK PARTS!
Oh Btw - I did put some support or this plastic strips holders for the lack of better term of those on my receiver so the ears won't get weakened if I carry the gun a lot via the carry handle. The gun do becomes a little heavy once the batteries are in. Better safe than sorry.

Jan 14, 2007.....Start of the gun bann season and yet we still played hehe. Anyway this m16 is really doing well.Getting lots of abuse this time because of this freakin AnK m4/m16 box mag. I used to shoot in shorter conservative burst now I can actually line up the bbs in much longer burst until I'm hitting the target with absolute anger...LOL! Almost 2000 rounds spent.
My teamate accidentally shot me but tnkfully it hit the rifle's reciever instead during gameplay. The shot happened at about 10 -15 feet by a gng soc 16 with a sp160 spring. Careful inspection, revealed no crack or whatever on the receiver. So I guess in spite the fact its receiver is plastic the quality is good enough capable to withstand hi-end games.
This time I hooked a sling. Didn't use the front sling swivel since it’s way up front it might develop that annoying barrel wobble there. So I just hooked up the front sling in front of the receiver using some shoe laces hehe since they are strong enough and easy to tighten there.Used the butt sling swivel on the rear and seems sturdy enough.
As usual some of my teammates thought it was a marui gun and asking...Why the heck you always have a new gun every 2-3 months? hehe, I told them.......eh kasi mura mga bengs galing china tapos maganda naman sila basta alam mo lang silang ayusan ng lubos lubusan. (Told them that it’s because that these china made airsoft guns are cheap and perform quite well as long as you know how to fix them really well)
Current set-up... - sp130 - Type 0 cylinder - Shims and proper lubrication - Relay - Sanyo 9.6 volts 2400 mah - Modified stock piston head - Modified stock nozzle - refitted stock cylinder head ......everything else.......STOCK PARTS!
FPS..........487-493.......average........490 fps!

Feb3-4, 2007 Night Game ng mga adiks sa famfwanga hehe. (Night Game at my hometown with the local airsoft enthusiast/addicts)The moon was bright and as usual my JG m16 didn't let me down no matter how much full auto mayhem I would fire upon the grass and foliage with the AnK box mag from hell...LOL! 2000 rounds spent accumulatively with some really longer burst of 5-7 secs long. I was really trying to push the stock motor trying to test if it would stock up due to too much heat as word on the street goes. Well, the weather was kind of cold so may be that helped for it not over heating and I ceased my firing just the right time for the motor to cool down with enough time. Anyway our night game lasted till 2am and I just got home and with some adrenalin still pumping can't sleep yet so better write this till I get tired. Sulit tlga tong JG m16 na to at sarap tlga dine sa pampanga ang linis ng daan almost checkpoint free, hehe, well atleast my route is pero kinakabahan din ako kahit paano. (The JG M16 gun provides the best bang for the buck… and so far the road home didn’t have any police checkpoints but I was still cautious since it’s election gun ban)
